Abstract: 

AD-HOC NETWORKS CONSIST OF COLLECTIONS OF WIRELESS MOBILE NODES. DUE TO MOBILITY, THERE EXISTS FREQUENT LINK BREAKAGE, PACKET LOSS, AND NEED FOR ROUTE DISCOVERY. OLSR IS PROACTIVE ROUTING PROTOCOL THAT IS DEVELOPED FOR MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORKS. OLSR REDUCES THE NETWORK TRAFFIC BY FLOODING CONTROL PACKETS EFFICIENTLY AND REDUCING UNNECESSARY AND REDUNDANT CONTROL PACKETS. OLSR REDUCES THE OVERHEAD OF CONTROL PACKETS USING A SUBSET OF ONE-HOP NEIGHBORS CALLED MULTIPOINT RELAYS FOR FLOODING CONTROL PACKETS. ALTHOUGH OLSR IS DEDICATED FOR MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORKS, BUT MOBILITY OF NODES DOES NOT CONSIDERED IN MPR SELECTION PROCEDURE. IN THIS PAPER IS ASSUMED THAT SOME NODES ARE STATIONARY AND PACKET DELIVERY RATE OF THE OLSR ROUTING PROTOCOL IS IMPROVED BY PREVENTING MOBILE NODES FROM BEING SELECTED AS MULTIPOINT RELAY AS MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE. SIMULATION RESULTS WHICH ARE IMPLEMENTED ON VISUALSENSE SIMULATOR, DEMONSTRATE THAT OUR PROPOSED METHOD REDUCES THE PACKET LOSS RATIO AND NUMBER OF CONTROL PACKETS AND CONSEQUENTLY INCREASES LIFETIME OF NETWORKS.

Abstract: 

The Networked Control System in modern control widely uses to decrease the implementation cost and increasing the performance. NCS in addition to its advantages is inevitable. Nevertheless they suffer of some limitations and deficiencies. PACKET LOSS is one of the main limitations which affect the control system in different conditions and finally may lead to system instability. For this reason, it is important to model the system properly. In this paper, a new model has been proposed that is very simple and independent from the main system. This model based on Robust Theory structure. Robust theory is a branch of control theory that explicitly deals with uncertainty in its approach to controller design. Robust control methods are designed to function properly so long as uncertain parameters or disturbances are within some (typically compact) set.

Abstract: 

In this paper, An IPTV PACKET classification algorithm is introduced with adaptive adjustment property and the objective of reducing PACKET LOSS RATIO in Ethernet passive optical networks. The proposed algorithm, improves weight allocation for WRR scheduling using proper classification and prioritization of arriving PACKETs to OLT. Based on simulation results with NS2 simulator, the PACKET LOSS RATIO of proposed algorithm, shows a 65% reduction compared to existing methods which leads to perceptible user quality of experience improvement.

Abstract: 

There are huge petitions of network traffic coming from various applications on Internet. In dealing with this volume of network traffic, network management plays a crucial rule. Traffic classification is a basic technique which is used by Internet service providers (ISP) to manage network resources and to guarantee Internet security. In addition, growing bandwidth usage, at one hand, and limited physical capacity of communication lines, at the other hand, lead providers to improve utilization quality of network resources. In fact, classification or identification of network is a critical task in network processing for traffic management, anomaly detection, and also to improve network quality-of-service (QoS). Port and payload based methods are two classical techniques which are applicable under traditional network conditions. However, many Internet applications use dynamic port numbers for communications, which lead to difficulties in identifying traffic using port numbers. Also many applications encrypt the data before transmitting to avoid detection. Therefore, payload-based techniques are inefficient for these traffics. In recent years, statistical feature-based traffic flow identification methods (STFIM) have attracted the interest of many researchers. The most important part of a STFIM is the selection of efficient statistical features. Preliminary analysis shows that the problem of PACKET LOSS in data transmission is one of the major challenges in employing STFIM for network traffic identification. This affects the statistical characteristics of PACKETs, such as the time interval between sending successive application PACKETs, and in some cases significantly reduces the accuracy of traffic identification. The main goal of this paper is to examine the effects of PACKET LOSS on statistical features, and therefore the accuracy of identifying applications, as well as extracting appropriate features to overcome these effects. For this purpose, the behavior of four statistical features, including the PACKET size, the time interval between sending and receiving PACKETs, the duRATIOn of the flows and the rate of sending PACKETs, are investigated; then applications traffics are identified via considering characteristics of their distribution. We collected a database of network traffic flow from seven applications with different rates of PACKET LOSS. We used the extracted features in a multilayer neural network, as a classifier, to differentiate between different traffic applications. Experimental results show that the extracted features are robust against the PACKETs LOSS, and the accuracy of the network traffic identification is close to the ideal state (traffic flow with no PACKET lost).

Abstract: 

Due to time-varying topological changes in a wireless ad hoc network, it is a challenging issue to provide stringent QoS requirements of most real-time applications. Each real-time application requires a specific set of QoS parameter guarantees (such as delay, jitter, PACKET LOSS. . . ). As multipath routing has the potential of reducing the congestion and increasing the throughput of the user traffic in multi-hop wireless networks, it is assumed that multiple paths are available in advance between each source-destination pair. In the current work, those subsets of real-time applications (such as Video On Demand), which require minimized PACKET LOSS and a lower bound on the delivered bandwidth, are taken into account. Using a constrained optimization framework and trying to minimize the PACKET LOSS, an optimal rate is allocated to each source-destination path of the real-time application. Simulation results verify the enhanced performance of the proposed method in terms of the PACKET error rate.

Abstract: 

Modern control systems widely use network to decrease the implementation cost and also increase the performance. Although they have several advantages, they suffer from some limitations and deficiencies. PACKET LOSS is one of the main limitations which affect the control system in different conditions and finally can lead to system instability. To prevent such problems it is important to model the system properly. In this paper, a new function has been proposed for error modeling. Moreover, different influences of system parameters and PACKET LOSS on error function have been investigated and it has been determined that changes of which parameter has more contribution on PACKET effect in error function. Considering these parameters is very critical in designing systems.

Abstract: 

Covert timing channels are used in transmitting information in a secret way. Jitter and PACKET LOSS are two important noises that affect Covert Timing Channel performance. Several studies on evaluating capacities and robustness of covert channels were done, but all those were based on measurement in real environment or computational methods. Measurement in real environment and computational methods do not have the capacity of creating special circumstances and evaluating the channel in those circumstances. In the present research, a covert timing channel on the Internet consisting two PACKET LOSSes and jitter noises was simulated using Petri-Net. Also, capacity and robustness criteria of channel were evaluated. The results of the simulation showed that weibull distribution function to modeling HTTP traffic transmitter, laplacian distribution function to modeling network jitter and bemoulli distribution function to modeling PACKET LOSS are careful enough. Also, parameters of these models obtained to optimum capacity and robustness.

Abstract: 

This article deals with the problem H1 control under network T-S fuzzy system with random PACKET dropouts for the synchronous machine. In the control design, the intermittent data LOSS existing in the closed-loop system is taken into account. Two main approaches adopted in this paper to design the fuzzy controller. First, a new version of the T-S fuzzy state-feedback controller is constructed to guarantee the resulting closed-loop system to be stochastically stable. Furthermore, in this regard, by taking into account a new version of fuzzy Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) in conjunction with free weighting matrices, containing mode-dependent non-integral term such that the resulting system is stochastically stable with the desired performance. Second, to establish the pole place method (PPM) with the membership function. Furthermore, to make the controller design more convenient, the designed controller does not need to share the number of fuzzy rules and membership functions with the model. Synchronous machine parameters are used for the simulation results which are provided to show the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract: 

Today, one of the new technologies in the modern era is Vehicular Ad-hoc Network which has taken enormous attention in the recent years. Because of rapid topology changing and frequent disconnection makes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data between vehicles, called V2V or vehicle to vehicle communication and vehicle to roadside infrastructure, called V2I. Designing an efficient routing protocol has taken significant attention because existing routing protocols for VANET are not efficient to meet every traffic scenario. For this reason it is very necessary to identify the pros and cons of routing protocols as well as simulation of protocols is essential to understand existing routing protocols behavior. In this research paper, we focus on VANET topology based routing protocols and also measure the performance of two on-demand routing protocols AODV & DSR in the random waypoint scenario.
